Only One Available: This is an original civil war era rifle lock plate. This dates back to the 1840s. The name one the plate is visible. It reads:
N. ASHMORE
The patina on the lock really makes it attractive. There is a scene behind the hammer that is visible but needs good lighting to see. The mechanics of the lock are slightly rusted but can easily be removed if properly done (to not damage the gun). This is a very nice lock from the time period, with little to no corrosion.
