Rare & early plains parfleche knife sheath, c. second half 19th century. Has a rare blue pigment and outlined in black. The simple square design is never seen and one of a kind. Truly an exceptional knife sheath. Sewn with sinew. Mounted on custom stand, lg. 8.5 in.
Ed Garrett stated the following: "I am baffled, I haven't seen a sheath with that shade of blue except in glass beads."
