Only One Available: This is an original circa 1830, possibly earlier Native American tobacco canteen. These were used by early Native Americans, mountain men, and the Spanish during the first half of the 19th century to carry tobacco. There is a similar artifact at the Museum of History in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The brown leather is in very great condition with the original wood plug. You won't find a better example than this. The leather has minimal wear. The fact that the leather has survived this long, in such great condition is amazing. It does appear to have tobacco residue inside but is hard to capture with a camera. This would look great in a display case or on a custom stand. It measures 4" long.
