Sioux Catlinite Horse Pipe, c. 1900. Flat sides with extensive floral designs, and a saddle. Attached to a 20th century, exquisitely carved twisted stem, with incised geometric designs. Comes with custom mount.

Collected by Carroll Richard Thorn Sr. in the early 1900's. Carroll Richard Thorn Sr. owned an extensive pipe collection and was a banker in Sheridan, WY. His father, Joseph Dayton Thorn was a banker and rancher. The town of Dayton, WY was named after Joseph.
